Annual General Meeting: Bitcoin Suisse presents strong 2021 results and elects Gabriela Hauser-Spühler as new member of the Board of Directors
Jul 1, 2022
Zug, July 1, 2022 – Yesterday, the Board of Directors of Bitcoin Suisse presented the financial results for the group for the full fiscal year 2021 during the 2022 annual general meeting. Lawyer and crypto-banking expert Gabriela Hauser-Spühler was elected as new member of the Board of Directors. In addition, Barbara Hofkamp, formerly Chief of Staff Global Wealth Management at UBS, will join the Bitcoin Suisse Management Committee as Chief Corporate Services Officer.
Bitcoin Suisse continued its strong profitable growth in 2021. The company surpassed the CHF 100 million revenue mark for the first time, reaching CHF 145 million consolidated revenues for the full year 2021, out of which more than half came from operating activities and the rest from proprietary crypto exposure. This represents an increase by over 140% from the consolidated revenues of CHF 60.3 million in 2020. The high market demand especially during the first half of 2021 and continued crypto adoption particularly contributed to this performance. The company saw growth across all business streams, especially in Staking, which reached the milestone of over CHF 2 billion staked assets in November 2021. The teams in Switzerland, Denmark and Liechtenstein grew by over 60% to almost 300 employees by the end of 2021.
