Peter Märkl joined Bitcoin Suisse as Group General Counsel in November 2023.

Previously, Peter worked as General Counsel at digital assets ETP issuers Valour Group and 21Shares AG and held different senior positions at UBS Switzerland AG in Zurich within Wealth Management GFO Risk Management, Legal Global Emerging Markets and Group Resolution Planning. In Frankfurt a.M., Peter held prior positions as Head Investment Banking Legal Germany at UBS Deutschland AG as well as Legal Counsel at the Investment Banking Legal Department at Credit Suisse (Europe) Limited and worked as an attorney at Clifford Chance.

Peter is admitted to the bar in Zurich, Frankfurt, and New York, and possesses in-depth expertise in the areas of digital assets securities, tokenization and DLT/blockchain technology. He holds a Master of Laws from Emory University in Atlanta, USA, and graduated Dr. jur. from the University of Konstanz (summa cum laude).
