With its move into the Shelley era and beyond, the Cardano blockchain now uses proof-of-stake for consensus. In order to receive staking rewards, holders of Cardano’s native token ADA need to either delegate their holdings or run a staking pool.

Staking rewards on the Cardano blockchain are distributed after 3 epochs, with each epoch lasting 5 days. Thus, users can anticipate receiving their first staking rewards approximately 15 days after the start of staking. To stake Cardano (ADA) with Bitcoin Suisse, a minimum amount of ADA in the equivalent of CHF 5’000 is required, and there is no lockup period.
